Today, as we are exposed to the greatest toxic load in our planet’s history, periodic detoxification of one’s body is vital to help maintain health and avoid disease. Infrared saunas are frequently recommended by medical professionals to relieve pain and even to prevent illness. We at ACM believe very strongly in the health benefits of infrared saunas. Your First Visitinfrared saunas

After reviewing your history with us, a staff member will escort you to our Far Infrared Sauna room. You will see the hypoallergenic Sunlight Signature II Sauna, a shower to rinse after the session, towels to dry off and a table to place all of your belongings. We suggest, because you will perspire profusely, to remove all of your clothing before getting into the sauna. If you are uncomfortable removing all your clothes you may choose to wear one of our robes or you can bring whatever you’re comfortable in. Typically, the first session runs about 20 to 30 minutes at a moderate temperature. After each sauna visit, your sessions will increase in temperature. When your session is over, you may use the shower and towels provided, dress and meet us out front. People have experienced improved colonic & other detox sessions after using the Far Infrared Sauna, so be sure to ask about our special packages!

Heals Soft Tissue

For brand new injuries that involve swelling, ice is usually the best treatment, in order to relieve swelling.  However, for existing injuries, such as strains or sprains, or other soft tissue injuries, heat is the best treatment. Relieves Pain

Infrared therapy is known to relieve chronic pain. Click here for one interesting study, focusing on back pain.  However, many infrared devices offer no way to easily target that therapy on the affected area for long spans of time.   Infrared light offers a powerful and natural form of pain relief, with no unpleasant side effects.

Improves Circulation

Allows Artificial Fever

Hippocrates said that if had the power to produce a fever, he could cure all disease.  This is a bit of an overstatement.  But still, it’s amazing that even in his time, he understood the body uses fever to fight off disease.   This technique essentially creates a mild artificial fever.  There is a fascinating book by Dr. Nobuhiro Yoshimizu, called The Fourth Treatment for Medical Refugees, which describes this technique in detail, and the breathtaking results that were achieved.

Breaks a Sweat

Sweating is healthy, and it serves several important biological functions. Aside from cooling us off and unclogging pores, sweating allows our body to excrete accumulated toxic compounds. This study even finds that certain toxins are preferentially excreted through sweat. Going through life without sweating every day is unnatural, at least compared to the rest of human history. Of course, not everyone can exercise vigorously every day. But far infrared therapy does involve some of the same biological processes.

Contraindications

 

  • If you are pregnant or are nursing.
  • In children under age 5.
  • If you have enclosed infections (dental, joints, tissue).
  • With Silicone implants (may melt at higher temperatures).
  • During menstrual cycle, as it may increase menstrual flow.
  • If you suffer from hemophilia or have other predispositions to bleeding.
  • If you take a prescription drug, check with a physician or pharmacist for any possible change in drug’s effect due to interaction with infrared energy.

Do not use the sauna if you have a history of:

 

  • If you are heat intolerant and do not sweat even with vigorous exercise.
  • If your skin becomes clammy, you feel weak, tired, or nauseous, STOP USE immediately! These could be signs of heat exhaustion.
  • If you stop sweating, GET OUT immediately! This may be the initial stage of heat stroke.
  • Adrenal suppression (body does not respond to heat)
  • SLE (systemic lupus erythematous)
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Hemophilia
