Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Research has also shown that cancer patients receiving reiki treatment have reported improvements in their overall well-being and ability to relax. One study showed that reiki and massage can provide similar improvements and relief for issues such as pain, nausea, and depression. It also induces deep relaxation, help people cope with difficulties, and relieve emotional stress.
What does Reiki feel like?
As Reiki energies flow between the practitioner and the recipient during the Reiki session, both bodies may respond with some sensation. Many people report feeling a sense of warmth and deep relaxation during reiki sessions. They may also feel sleepy or refreshed, or generally less tense and anxious.
This treatment is performed laid on a massage table. You will remain fully clothed throughout the session and further covered with a blanket in order to retain a sense of warmth and security throughout the treatment. The practitioner’s hands are placed in various (non-invasive) positions on the body and above in the aura level. At the end of the treatment Chakra balance is done.
